Hair Loss Part 1 How I dealt with Regrowth Causes Solutions My Experience with PCOS
Hi Guys, this is Ife of Ife360TV and today I am here to talk to you about thinning hair and hair loss. So first of all I’ve been natural since birth all my life and within the last few years, I’ve started to experience something that perhaps I was experiencing before but I didn’t notice until maybe 2013. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome I found out that I had it in 2008 I did an ultrasound to verify and I found that I have cysts on my ovaries. So, fast forward to uhhh meeting with an endocrinologist, he was going to put me on birth control I declined because I did not believe in adding synthetic hormones to my body. My hormones were already screwed up, why add more right? I continued working with polycystic.
Ovarian syndrome I found out also that i was prediabetic so I changed my diet I came off of sugar. It took awhile everything was gradual, I got off of sugar, I got off of dairy, I went back and forth, I went back on dairy, came off of it. It was quite a yoyo experience, and at some point, I got pretty desperate and I went to a Chinese , Eastern medicine and she put me on alot of herbs, she took me off of meats completely, eggs, dairy, milk, cheese everything and I came off of it, I had no problem getting off of it. She also gave me some herbs as well, which I cannot remember for the life of me right now. I was with her for awhile, I saw minor changes, nothing drastic and in 2011, I moved to the Bahamas.
So I was in Trinidad and I was working with her since I have moved to the bahamas I have not worked with Chinese since then so 2013 came up and I realised that I was losing a lot of hair in the shower while detangling. while.I can just gently pass my hand through my hair and hair would be falling out. Right so that was in the beginning , January 2013. I noticed alot of that happening, and I lost so much hair, the amount of hair I was losing, was probably, the size of two tennis balls. Yeah, that amount of hair I was losing and that would be every wash so let’s say I washed my hair every 2 weeks that’s the amount of hair that was coming out. So.
It became pretty alarming to me that something was going on, I started to suspect it had something to do with the cysts on my ovaries, the Polycystic ovarian Syndrome so I started to research alot and I came across the link between thyroid disorder and hair loss and polycyctic Ovarian Syndrome. My research led me to find out they are all linked and the hair loss especially was what I was most interested in (sigh). I came across something called Lugol’s iodine, so this is it, Lugol’s iodine and through reading up on that I found out that I had to correct my thyroid disorder. Now my body wasn’t able to retain iodine very well so, I needed to supplement with it and the lack.
Of iodine also leads to the complications with cycts on your ovaries so I started to take the iodine, I also needed to use magnesium, this is what I used, Ancient Minerals, magnesium Oil which you just spray on anywhere on your body and you just rub it in. This is also the same magnesium that you would get if you were to soak in the sea or the beach, so I would rub that on my skin everyday and the other thing you need to supplement with.basically, you need to supplement iodine with Magnesium Oil, selenium through brazil nuts, vitamin C so here it is, the Brazil Nuts that I use. It is an open pack that I am currently using. These are the Brazil Nuts, basically I get them in the shell and just crack them open.
When I am ready to eat. The other thing, the Vitamin C. Ascorbic Acid, ultra fine powder, it’s not the tablet and these tend to be the better ones. I started to take those supplements and about 3 months later. I gradually started to see a difference and my hair stopped falling out. I saw a huge change the amount of hair I was losing was probably a ping ball sized amount of hair, It was not alot of hair I was losing anymore. So things pretty much, leveled off throughout the year in 2013 and then I did something in 2014 so check out my next tutorial to find out what happened, but in the meantime , if you have any comments about thinning hair, post them in the comments below, if you are losing hair as I did as well, please leave your comments and I can’t wait to read.

How To Lose Weight With Hypothyroidism
Losing weight and keeping it off can be a struggle, especially if you have an underactive thyroid. Your metabolism has slowed down and you’re almost always feeling tired. In this tutorial I’m looking at four steps required to successfully lose weight with hypothyroidism. (bells ringing) Optimise your thyroid medication.
If your medication is not helping to correct thyroid hormone levels as well as relieve symptoms, then weight loss goes from difficult to near impossible. Work with your health care provider to determine what type of medication is better for you. And also to find the optimal dose required. While Levothyroxine is on average more effective,.
Desiccated thyroid is a useful alternative that is reportedly much better tolerated. There is no difference between taking thyroid hormone meds in the morning versus the evening. Choose whatever is easier for you to have on a fasting stomach. Cut back on added sugars and refined starches. I need to begin with this clarification.
Carbohydrates on their own are not inherently bad for you. They do not make you fat or sick on their own. That said, carbs in the form of added sugars and unrefined starches are unhealthy and unnecessary. They offer virtually zero nutritional benefit and are the main contributor to the excess calories that we consume. Therefore, cutting back on added sugar is the most simple.
And direct way to cut out excess empty calories. This is done by limiting intake of junk foods, flavored drinks including juice, alcohol, white bread, most cereals and muesli bars, and a good portion of packaged food in your supermarket’s quot;health foodquot; aisle. That includes glutenfree junk food, it’s still junk food. Now it’s unrealistic and unfair to expect yourself to avoid added sugar every single moment.
Of every single day of the year but you do need to slowly begin taking actionable steps that help you to cut back and form healthier eating habits. Start by not having junk foods at home or keep them in a cupboard that you never use yourself. Base meals around vegetables and protein. If you want to lose weight with hypothyroidism veggies and a protein source should be the foundation.
Of every meal you make and they should be plated first when you serve meals. The main benefit of protein is that it’s much more satiating than both fat and carbs. That means it has a unique ability to reduce appetite and therefore your overall caloric intake too. Studies show high protein diets may also reduce obsessive thoughts about food by 60 percent.
